  • What happens to the eye if you wear glasses with more power than you need?

    Question:

What happens to the eye if overcorrected? For example, if one were to wear glasses twice as powerful as needed, would that weaken the eyes over time? Or would it just cause eye strain?

    Answer:

Overcorrection can give some patients a headache but will have no permanent effect on the vision.
