What's making my eyelids red?
FEB 26, 2021
Question:
What can cause red eyelids? I have red/pink eyelids around my eyes and also have ptosis. Sometimes my eyelids are normal, but become red again later in the day.
After exercising, the redness usually disappears but returns later. Some people say it’s blepharitis. Is it possible I have another disorder?
Answer:
Without an image of your eyelids, it is difficult to define the exact cause for you, but if you are very fair-skinned, you may be able to see the fine blood vessels in your eyelids, giving them a pink appearance. Blepharitis as well as allergies can also make eyelid margins irritated and red. It would be useful for you to be seen by an ophthalmologist. They will be able to diagnose the cause of the redness and treat you appropriately.
