Will Honey Eye Baths Harm My Eyes?
SEP 16, 2014
Question:
I have had laser CO2 resurfacing and l have a borderline condition of ectropion. Will I be harming my eyes by having regular honey eye baths?
Answer:
In general, the mild ectropion (when the lower eyelid turns outwards) following laser resurfacing (a procedure used to treat a variety of skin problems) improves with time as the swelling and skin contracture softens. We do not recommend that individuals put substances in their eyes that have not been approved for ophthalmic use. They may be irritating at best and damaging at worst. Please avoid placing any cosmetic treatments directly into your eyes.
