Academy Advocacy Helps Spark Government Investigation of Generic Drug Price Spikes
Rising generic drug prices now have the attention of Health and Human Services’ Inspector General Daniel Levinson. In a letter sent last week to Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., Levinson said his office would review generic drug prices from 2005-14. The inquiry will evaluate how rising prices have affected Medicaid, but not Medicare.
