Academy Believes Interoperability Would Remove Barriers to Quality Improvements
The Academy is urging a key House subcommittee focused on innovation to consider the advantages of improving interoperability under the Electronic Health Records Meaningful Use program. In submitting comments on draft legislation that seeks to modernize health care by removing outdated regulatory processes, the Academy says that requiring EHRs to be interoperable with clinical data registries would help build a meaningful quality improvement infrastructure.
