Alabama Optometrists Renew Legislative Push for Surgery
Alabama now becomes the fifth state in 2021 to introduce optometric surgery legislation, joining Florida, Mississippi, Oregon and Wyoming. Similar to last year’s failed push, the new bill includes language that would grant the state board of optometry sole authority to determine all future scope-of-practice expansion for optometrists.
