CMS to Resume Audit Program

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services plans to resume a limited version of the Recovery Audit Contractor program. CMS said in an Aug. 4 statement that recovery auditors whose contracts expired June 1 would be re-engaged beginning this month. Contractors will conduct a limited number of Medicare fee-for-service claim reviews.
