  • Optometry Seeks Primary Care Designation Under Loan Repayment Pilot Program  


    Optometric champions in Congress included non-binding report language in legislation passed in December that could qualify optometrists for some practicing rights currently reserved for physicians. The report calls on the Health Resources and Services Administration to evaluate the establishment of a pilot project that would recognize optometry as primary health service providers under its National Health Services Corps loan repayment program.
