SGR Update: CMS Working to Ensure Senate Delay Won’t Hurt Physician Payments
The U.S. Senate will not consider legislation to repeal the sustainable growth rate formula overwhelmingly passed by the U.S. House of Representatives until it reconvenes April 13. Therefore, the 21 percent cut in physician payments took effect as scheduled April 1. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will not pay electronic claims sooner than 14 days after receipt, paper claims sooner than 29 days after receipt.
