    Last month, thousands of ophthalmologists convened in Chicago for the Academy’s Subspecialty Day meetings and AAO 2018. Here are the 15 most-viewed news stories on this year's presentations, as reported in AAO 2018 Daily.

    1. Biocompatible Film Patches Macular Holes and Retinal Breaks in a Single Step. Persistent macular holes are often treated with multiple surgeries, adjuvant drugs, or transplants. Stanislao Rizzo, MD, said that there’s a simpler—and safer—approach (4-minute read).
