• 4 Ways to Watch Subspecialty Day and AAO 2016 Online

There are 4 ways to watch the action online.

    1. Watch episodes of AAO TV. Each episode is short—about 5 or 6 minutes—but is rich with pearls from this year’s presentations. The first episode focuses on Friday’s Retina and Refractive Surgery Subspecialty Day meetings. Some hotels are devoting a television channel to AAO TV, and monitors at the convention center will also be showing it. Segments from each episode will also be posted online.

    2. Enjoy individual interviews. AAO TV will be complemented by several short Q&As with presenters. Today, for instance, you can hear David F. Chang, MD, offer the cataract surgeon’s perspective on hemorrhagic occlusive retinal vasculitis, a rare and devastating complication linked to use of intraocular vancomycin during cataract surgery.

    3. Sign up for live streaming. If you sign up for the Academy’s Virtual Meeting, you can access much content that was prepared ahead of time, such as the scientific posters and videos, and you can watch some events live. On Sunday, for example, the Academy will be live streaming the following:

    • The Opening Session (8:30-10:00 a.m., CDT)D
    • Case-Based Corneal Conundrums (10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., CDT)
    • The Arnall Patz Lecture—The Retina Specialist: Do We Practice Evidence-Based Medicine? (1:30-2:00 p.m., CDT)
    • Age-Related Macular Degeneration Across Diverse Populations: Variations in Epidemiology, Imaging and Treatment Strategies (2:00-3:30 p.m., CDT)
    • Age-Related Macular Degeneration Across Diverse Populations: Variations in Epidemiology, Imaging and Treatment Strategies (2:00-3:30 p.m., CDT)
    • Imaging in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Macular Disorders (3:45-5:15 p.m., CDT)

    4. Buy AAO Meetings on Demand. The Academy is recording all of the Subspecialty Day meetings plus select sessions from AAO 2016. If you are in Chicago, you can order AAO Meetings on Demand at the Academy Resource Center (Booth 508) or in the Grand Concourse. Save 10% when you purchase it at McCormick Place. After AAO 2016, you may buy it online.
