    Cary Rayment

DURING MY 35-YEAR career in the health care industry, I had the privilege of working with great companies and organizations, including the Academy. I often saw the advancements that the Academy made toward improving patient care, and how the Foundation helped the Academy achieve its educational goals. When I retired as president and CEO of Alcon, my wife and I prioritized the organizations that we felt best fit our philanthropic vision. We chose to contribute to the Foundation because of its mission to advance physician education.

As a former member of the Foundation Advisory Board, I have personally seen how the Foundation has helped the Academy improve people’s lives worldwide. I witnessed the inception and development of the ONE Network, which has transformed ophthalmic education. It has extended the Academy’s reach throughout the world, and to this day continues to improve education, and ultimately, patient outcomes.

The Academy is clearly the world leader in ophthalmic education. With increased funding, the Foundation can help ensure that physicians and eyecare specialists have the necessary knowledge to advance the state of ophthalmology for generations. I am fortunate to be able to support this worthy endeavor, and will continue to contribute to the future of eye care around the world.

Cary and Janet Rayment give annually at the Leadership Council level. They have made more than $50,000 in lifetime donations to the Foundation.

The Foundation acknowledges the exceptional generosity of the following individuals in 2016.
