  • "Jay's involvement with the museum began in 1985, and I personally met him when I came on board in 2001. He was a highly engaged committee member with a deep knowledge of ophthalmic history and, of course, ophthalmic numismatics which were one of his passions. I will deeply miss working with him to build the museum's collection." - Jenny Benjamin, Director, Truhlsen - Marmor Museum of the Eye

    Dear Friends:

We are saddened to learn of the sudden passing of our beloved Dr. Jay Galst from the COVID 19 virus. Dr. Galst was admired and loved by all, his patients, colleagues, family and friends. As a long time, committed leader on the Academy’s Museum Committee he was a proud and generous donor to the Museum of Vision, now the Truhlsen-Marmor Museum of the Eye.

We hope you will honor Dr. Galst with a gift at this time to the project which was so near and dear to him. To make a donation in memory of Dr. Galst, please visit our donation page. Dr. Galst's obituary can be found here
