Haag-Streit has added two more IOL calculation formulas to its Lenstar LS900 optical biometer: the Masket and the Modified Masket. The new formulas are recommended for patients with a history of refractive laser surgery.
According to Haag-Streit, the Masket method uses the patient's clinical history and offers reliable IOL power calculations for post-myopic and hyperopic laser refractive surgery.
The Lenstar LS900 already has the Shammas no-history formula, designed for IOL prediction in cases in which there are no clinical histories. It can perform complete biometrical assessment in a single procedure, including lens thickness, anterior chamber depth and retinal thickness.
