    Cataract/Anterior Segment, Comprehensive Ophthalmology

University of Leeds researcher Devesh Mistry is developing an IOL for presbyopia made from liquid crystal. Made from the same material used to manufacture smartphone and TV screens, the lens adjusts and focuses automatically, depending on the eye muscle movement.

A second year graduate student, Devesh plans to have a prototype available by the end of his doctoral studies in 2018. His research is in collaboration with the University of Manchester and Ultravision CLPL, a Cambridge-based company specializing innovative contact lenses.
