Alcon announced that a new Category I Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code will be used with the Ex-Press Glaucoma Filtration Device starting in January.
The new CPT code is 66183, which covers, “insertion of anterior segment aqueous drainage device, without extraocular reservoir; external approach.”
It will cover dates of service starting on Jan. 1, 2014, and will replace the Category III CPT code 0192T.
