New Pentacam device includes axial length measurement

The U.S. FDA has cleared a new Pentacam device, the Pentacam AXL, which integrates anterior segment tomography and axial length measurement to allow for accurate IOL calculation.

Oculus says the device takes into account posterior corneal astigmatism to allow for more reliable toric IOL calculation. The device also features a fast screening report, Belin/Ambrósio enhanced ectasia display for early detection of corneal ectasia, and densitometric evaluation.
