Acute posterior multifocal placoid pigment epitheliopathy (APMPPE). A, Color fundus photograph of the left eye of a 23-year-old male patient shows confluent yellowish placoid lesions in the posterior pole. The right eye (not pictured) was also involved. Early (B) and late-phase (C) fluorescein angiography (FA) demonstrates hypofluorescence (due to decreased choriocapillaris perfusion and/or thickening of the retinal pigment epithelium [RPE]), and hyperfluorescence, respectively. D, Indocyanine green angiography (ICGA; left) shows hypofluorescence of the lesions, and the optical coherence tomography (OCT) scan (right) demonstrates outer retinal involvement in the areas of lesions.
