    Calcific band keratopathy. A, Clinical appearance. B, Calcific band keratopathy may be treated with epithelial scraping and chelation with ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA “scrub”). The calcium is deposited at the level of Bowman layer (arrows), appearing deeply basophilic (purple) on H&E stain. C, Calcium deposits appear black on von Kossa stain.
