    Cornea/External Disease

Central Cloudy Dystrophy of Francois. It appears as a central, fluffy opacity and has a cracked-ice appearance. Pathologic findings include collagen of deep stroma in sawtooth folds. There is extracellular deposition of mucopolysaccharide and lipid-like material has been found. Opacity is most dense centrally and posteriorly, fading anteriorly and peripherally. The patient does not have decreased visual acuity, and there is no treatment recommended.
