    Changing a subluxated sutured, scleral-fixated intraocular lens (IOL) to a glued IOL. a. A subluxated 3-piece IOL. b. Anterior vitrectomy is performed. The haptic is grasped and transferred from hand to hand, using the handshake technique. c. Eroded suture is seen on the haptic from the previous suturing. d. Suture and adherent vitreous are cut with a 23-gauge vitrector passed through a 20-gauge sclerotomy created under the scleral flap. e. The extreme tip of the haptic is grasped with a microforceps passed through sclerotomy. f. The haptic is externalized. g. The opposite haptic also similarly grasped. h. Both haptics, thus externalized, are tucked into intrascleral Scharioth tunnels. Flaps and conjunctiva are glued down.
