    Needle penetration of the globe. A, Needle penetration of the globe has caused multiple retinal breaks, including damage to the macula. B, After retinal detachment occurred, treatment consisted of vitrectomy, fluid–gas exchange, and endolaser photocoagulation of retinal breaks. Retinal reattachment was achieved, but the visual acuity remained very poor.
