    Occlusion Therapy. Patching or occlusion therapy is the mainstay of amblyopia treatment. Patching the unaffected, or "good," eye provides monocular stimulation to the amblyopic eye, promoting visual development. Occlusion therapy is prescribed to improve vision, and as a rule, does not eliminate strabismus.
