Quadrant removal techniques. A, Spatula lifts the apex of the quadrant; the ultrasound tip is embedded into the posterior edge; and aspiration centralizes the quadrant for emulsification. B, Quadrants are debulked centrally after splitting; the ultrasound tip is embedded into the cortical rim and aspiration is maintained to tumble the rim and remainder of the quadrant centrally. C, Spatula pushes the apex of the quadrant posteriorly so the rim moves to front and center.
