    Retina/Vitreous

Left eye of patient with AMD and serous detachment of retinal pigment epithelium. (A) This angiogram was performed 3 months prior to development of tear in pigment epithelium. (B) Same eye following tear of retinal pigment epithelium in area of serous detachment and retracts toward optic disc. Retracted pigment epithelium is dark, with sharp edge adjacent to exposed choriocapillaris. Fluorescein dye can be seen filling exposed choriocapillaris. (C) Anteriovenous phase of same eye shows brilliant fluorescence in exposed choriocapillaris and leakage of dye. Note sharp edge of partly retracted torn retinal pigment epithelium.
