In this interview from AAO 2014, Dr. John Hovanesian shares results from a study evaluating cataract patients who received a combination of 1% phenylephrine and 0.3% ketorolac for intraoperative mydriasis and postoperative pain. Of the 400 patients who received the drug, 2% experienced pupil constriction of more than 2.5 mm compared to 27% of the control group, which also experienced twice as much pain after surgery.
