Different Approach to Kerataconus

In this interview from AAO 2016, Dr. Arun Gulani discusses his approach for managing keratoconus. He treats this common corneal disorder as primarily a refractive procedure with the associated anomalies of a thin cornea, decentered apex and corneal scar. Dr. Gulani’s bases his surgical planning on sight, shape, scar, site and strength, which he believes allows for precise refractive correction.
