In this interview from the 2013 American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Annual Meeting, Dr. George O. Waring IV discusses his early clinical experiences with the Alcon WaveLight Refractive Suite, the fastest refractive surgery platform available in the United States. Dr. Waring was the first surgeon in the United States to adopt the platform to perform LASIK. The Refractive Suite comprises both the 500-Hz EX500 excimer laser, with a treatment time of 1.4 seconds per diopter, and the FS200 femtosecond laser, also currently the fastest laser of its kind in the United States. Together, says Dr. Waring, the two lasers offer patients an incomparably fast surgery and visual recovery, and provide the surgeon an integrated, ergonomic solution for corneal flap creation and ablation.
