In this interview from AAO 2020 Virtual, Dr. David Friedman discusses highlights from the 2020 Shaffer Lecture. He notes the changing landscape of glaucoma care due to the pandemic, and that "business-as-usual" in caring for glaucoma patients is simply not possible. New technologies and the ability to use ever more data that are relevant to patient outcomes will result in a transformed care model, one where fewer in-person visits are required and where doctors will have more evidence to support patient care. By adapting to these changes, clinicians can provide even better care to patients.
