Working at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Dan Gombos has first-hand experience with a broad spectrum of ocular toxicities that can occur from chemotherapy. In this interview from AAO 2014, Dr. Gombos discusses some of the common ocular reactions. Interestingly, despite new drug classes and treatment protocols, steroids prescribed in conjunction with chemotherapy remain the most common source of complications. Dr. Gombos also reviews toxicities from systemic medications and the effects of radiation to the head and neck.
