Glaucoma, Surgical Management
In this interview from AGS 2019, Dr. Davinder Grover discusses the drawbacks of subconjunctival devices. Some major limitations include fibrosis and the management of wound healing. He and his colleague developed the Grover-Fellman spatula that can be used to needle a microshunt at the split lamp. It allows for a strong posterior sweep to dissect the Xen 45 but causes less damage than a needle.
Watch Dr. Grover use the Grover-Fellman spatula to needle a Xen 45 implant.
