Tips for Cataract Surgery in Uveitic Eyes

In this interview from AAO 2016, Dr. Debra Goldstein discusses her approach to cataract surgery in patients with uveitis. Because achieving quiescence before surgery is paramount, she aggressively treats patients with oral steroids as early as 3 months prior to surgery. In challenging patients, Dr. Goldstein will supplement with intraoperative steroids. She also offers advice on surgery technique and IOL selection.
