Cataract/Anterior Segment, Glaucoma
In this interview from AAO 2018, Dr. Arsham Sheybani shares his approach to tackling lens-induced glaucomas. Generally, gonioscopy and pigmentation in the angle help him hone in on the problem. However, physicians must carefully consider whether to manage the lens alone or in combination with glaucoma. He recommends treating glaucoma when the pressure is very elevated or there is a real disease (i.e., neuropathy, field loss). Before tackling the lens, Dr. Sheybani takes into consideration the type of lens and plans accordingly.
