In this interview from ARVO 2016, Dr. Netan Choudhry discusses the use of ultra-widefield, steering-based SD OCT to better image the retinal periphery in a living eye. This new technique provides detailed anatomic information of the peripheral retina, including benign and pathologic entities, not previously imaged. Dr. Choudhry’s images were obtained with a commercially available OCT machine with the out-of-the box lens.
