Serve as a Meeting Ambassador to an International First-Time Annual Meeting Attendee
Description: Help orient and engage international members who are attending the Academy annual meeting for the first time. The Meeting Ambassadors Program is designed to make the annual meeting more approachable, foster inclusion and build connections between first-time attendees and those who have attended past meetings.
Expectations: Ambassadors are required to connect with their international buddy: 1) Meet at least once (virtually) prior to the annual meeting via email or video chat; and 2) Meet in person during the annual meeting to provide guidance on how to navigate the conference and how to take advantage of its offerings.
Time commitment: One to two hours prior to the annual meeting communicating with first-time attendee; attendance at one or two Meeting Ambassadors Program events at the annual meeting.
Instructions: Submit an interest form before Sept. 13. The Academy will match ambassadors with first-time, international attendees approximately a month prior to the meeting. Ambassadors will assist first-time attendees by answering questions regarding conference logistics and offering general meeting advice.
Deadlines: Sign up to volunteer annually by Sept. 13.
