    Museum Specialist, Truhlsen-Marmor Museum of the Eye®

    Aubrey Minshew is the current museum specialist at the Museum of the Eye®, having joined the American Academy of Ophthalmology in 2021 after a decade in the museum and nonprofit art field. Currently, she spends her time at the museum developing public programming, managing the museum’s valued volunteers, writing for museum PR and social media, and concerning herself with all things visitor experience.

    Aubrey received her master’s degree in Museum Studies from the Johns Hopkins University and holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Georgetown University. Prior to the Museum of the Eye, she has worked in a wide variety of museums throughout the country, including the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Washington, the City of Raleigh Museum in Raleigh, North Carolina, Pima Air & Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona, and on Alcatraz Island and at the Walt Disney Family Museum, both in San Francisco. She is originally from Charleston, South Carolina.
