Museum Specialist, Truhlsen-Marmor Museum of the Eye
Stephanie Stewart Bailey was the museum specialist at the Museum of the Eye from 2019 - 2021. She joined the American Academy of Ophthalmology after working in science and medical museums, as well as artist residencies, for the last decade. She wore many hats to foster community engagement within the museum — operational planning, public program development, object preparation, visitor research and evaluation, communications and the volunteer and internship program.
Stephanie received her master of science in museum studies from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, and her bachelor of fine arts at the School of the Art Institute, Chicago. She has worked at the Exploratorium, Headlands Center for the Arts, Gothenburg Museum of Natural History, the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, among other science and art festivals, spaces, and biotechnology startups in San Francisco.
