Ophthalmology Retina will showcase thriving sector for retina specialists globally
SAN FRANCISCO — The American Academy of Ophthalmology today announced the launch of Ophthalmology® Retina. This new scientific journal focuses exclusively on retina-related eye diseases and conditions. Ophthalmology Retina publishes original research of interest to retina specialists worldwide.
The new publication is an extension of Ophthalmology®, the Academy’s flagship journal and one of the most-read clinical publications within the medical specialty. Ophthalmology Retina benefits from sharing experienced staff and an overlapping editorial board with Ophthalmology, which allows for an expedient review and publication process.
“A devoted retina journal provides subspecialists with cutting-edge research and just-in-time insights to better serve patients,” said Andrew P. Schachat, M.D., editor-in-chief of Ophthalmology Retina. “In an environment that is constantly changing, it’s important that we equip our colleagues with everything they need to choose appropriate emerging treatments. Ophthalmology Retina will be a valuable resource for retina specialists around the world.”
