  • American Academy of Ophthalmology Appoints Renaldo Juanso as Vice President of Communications and Marketing

    SAN FRANCISCO—The American Academy of Ophthalmology Academy today announced the recent appointment of Renaldo Juanso as Vice President of Communications and Marketing. He comes to the Academy with a broad background in corporate communications, public affairs, and marketing. 

    At the Academy, Mr. Juanso will lead a team responsible for marketing, public relations, web strategy, member communications, patient education and advocacy communications. Prior to joining the Academy he was Vice President of Corporate Communications for AB SCIEX, a global life sciences company that is part of Danaher Corporation. His background also includes communications and marketing leadership positions at Applied Biosystems, Avaya, Inc., Guidant Corporation and the San Francisco Forty Niners.

"He brings a diverse set of skills, combined with a strong management background across a broad range of functions that we anticipate will contribute significantly to our efforts to advance the professional interests of Eye M.D.s to ensure that the public can obtain the best possible eye care."

    Mr. Juanso is a graduate of the University of Kentucky. He is a member of the American Marketing Association, the International Association of Business Communicators and the Public Relations Society of America.
