  • Dale Fajardo Appointed as Vice President for Education

    SAN FRANCISCO — The American Academy of Ophthalmology today announced the promotion of Dale Fajardo, Ed.D., M.B.A., to vice president for education. Mr. Fajardo will lead a team responsible for the Academy’s extensive ophthalmic clinical education and quality of care programs, courses and products.

    Mr. Fajardo has directed the organization’s online educational initiatives since 2008, spearheading the development and day-to-day operations of the Ophthalmic News and Education® (ONE) Network, which serves more than 80,000 eye physicians and surgeons around the world. He has an extensive background in the creation and delivery of innovative educational, training and compliance initiatives at various biopharmaceutical firms, such as Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Fajardo also developed curriculum and certification requirements for the 30,000 members of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary as head of its National Training Directorate.

    Mr. Fajardo earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Hawaii and a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Southern California.
