World’s largest online source of peer-reviewed ophthalmic news and education redesigned to support lifelong learning and patient outcomes
SAN FRANCISCO — The American Academy of Ophthalmology today announced its newly redesigned Ophthalmic News and Education ONE® Network, the world’s largest online source of peer-reviewed, high-quality news and education for ophthalmologists – medical doctors who specialize in the diagnosis, medical and surgical treatment of eye diseases and conditions. The new site includes improvements in search optimization, responsive design for mobile compatibility, intuitive navigation, a multimedia library and a host of other features that will enhance the user experience through easier, faster access to the ever-expanding wealth of content in support of their lifelong learning.
With more than 30,000 visitors each month from countries across the globe, the ONE Network was established in 2007 to help ophthalmologists keep up with current developments, while helping them to meet continuing education and certification requirements. It now provides more than 50 interactive cases and courses, full-text access to nine leading journals, self-assessment questions, practice guidelines, and thousands of videos and clinical images. It is used by ophthalmology societies around the world and provides summaries of the Academy’s practice guidelines in eight languages. As an online education initiative, the ONE Network enables ophthalmologists to access the latest information in the field to refine their best practices and improve patient outcomes.
Updates to the ONE Network include:
Rich set of content – peer-reviewed, cutting-edge clinical knowledge that includes journals, educational cases and courses, news and clinical guidelines.
Mobile compatibility – the new site features responsive design, enabling it to display content on nearly all devices including smartphones and tablets, regardless of the operating system.
Easy-to-find continuing medical education CME content – with over 250 CME activities, ophthalmologists are better able to keep abreast of new developments in the field.
Powerful search and intuitive navigation – users may now filter results in a variety of ways, including subspecialty and CME credit, with links to searches via Google Scholar and PubMed.
Personalization – new tools to allow each user to tailor content to his or her specific needs, including a widget to access their CME transcript, bookmark content, track performance on customizable self-assessment exams and much more.
Multimedia content – the ONE Network’s multimedia library now includes HD videos and a collection of downloadable images that are free to members.
