    Harvard Business School innovation expert to keynote inaugural conference

    SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. –  Registration is now open for EyeceleratorTM, a next-generation business conference to further ophthalmic innovation. The conference is a joint venture between the American Academy of Ophthalmology and ASCRS (American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery), the two largest and most respected societies in ophthalmology. The inaugural Eyecelerator conference will be held on May 14 in Boston, in conjunction with the ASCRS annual meeting. The second Eyecelerator conference will be in November, in conjunction with the Academy’s annual meeting in Las Vegas.

    Leaders from both organizations have created a conference that engages in unique ways inventors, investors, scientists, physicians, entrepreneurs, startups and established businesses. Showcasing emerging technology, groundbreaking research and inventive concepts, the conference will act as the catalyst that propels innovation, transforming the future of ophthalmology. 

    The inaugural conference will feature a keynote address from Harvard Business School Professor Gary P. Pisano, a noted authority on the management of innovation and competitive strategy. His research and consulting experience span a range of industries, including biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, aerospace and technology.

    “We’re designing a dynamic schedule of programs focused on advancing state-of-the-art eye care at all stages of development, from emerging to market-ready, from VC-backed concepts to those seeking investors,” said Eric D.
