Best of E-Talk: Granting Employee Time Off
We have always tried to be flexible with employees that have family emergencies, house closings, family issues, etc. However, I feel like I’m being taken advantage of. An employee requested a half day off for their daughter’s baseball game. I had them take the full day off instead. I have another employee who was out for surgery and granted them a half day off. Now I’m hearing cries of favoritism. Does anyone have any recommendations about handling this?
