Allowable for Patients 65 Years Old and Older
Question: For patients over 65 without traditional Medicare, must their payer’s fee schedule follow Medicare?
Answer: You should not charge Medicare patients out of pocket more than what Medicare allows. When the patient or their spouse is still working, the contract between the physician and the payer determines the allowed amount.
