  • Billing for a Dropped Vial of Drug

Question: Can we bill for a vial of drug that was accidently dropped and not administered to a Medicare patient? We gave the patient a different vial?

Answer: Only bill for the vial given to the patient. The payer isn’t responsible for the unused vial. Contact the vendor to see if they will replace it.
