  • CMS Provider-Revalidation List Updated Through September 2018

Under the Affordable Care Act, all physicians must periodically revalidate their Medicare enrollment to avoid a disruption in reimbursement. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has now posted providers who are due to revalidate through Sept. 31, 2018.

Use the CMS website to see if you are due to revalidate in the next six months. Whatever the month when your current validation expires, the deadline always falls on the last day of the month.

In addition to the CMS website, Medicare Administrative Contractors will mail or email notification to physicians up to three months before the deadline.

For due-to-revalidate providers in Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee, your notification may come from a different contractor than last time. As of Feb. 23, Palmetto GBA took administration of these states (Jurisdiction J) over from Cahaba GBA.

If you fail to revalidate in the required timeframe, your contractor may withhold payments; physicians receive no payments while deactivated.

CMS will next update its revalidation list May 1.
