Comanagement in Another State
Question: Can comanagement occur across state lines when there are different Medicare Administrative Contractors?
Answer: Yes. There needs to be a transfer of care agreement on file just as there is when comanagement occurs within the same state. Submit claims to your MAC as usual with the appropriate -54 or -55 modifiers.
