  • ICD-10-CM November 2014 Testing Week Report

Good news from CMS on the November ICD-10 testing week. According to CMS, more than 500 billing entities, including physicians, ambulatory surgical centers and hospitals participated in the voluntary testing of ICD-10 claims offered in November 2014. Of the approximately 13,700 claims submitted throughout the week, 76 percent were accepted by CMS. It was noted, however, that participants intentionally sent in claims with incorrect information, making sure they were properly rejected. Verification of the claims included valid diagnoses, appropriate dates of service, and valid NPI information. There are two more testing periods set in 2015; March 2 to 6 and June 1 to 5. Check out the MLN Matters® Article MM8858 for more information on testing weeks.
