IOL Master Performed After Ascan Billed
Question: We performed CPT code 76519 A-scan bilaterally on our patient and billed the first eye. The surgeon is now requesting CPT code 92136 IOL Master for the second eye. Can we bill this?
Answer: You can bill 92136 for the second eye because this is the information used to determine the lens power. Append modifier -26 only because you have already been paid for the technical component of biometry for IOL calculation.
