Removing Tumors From Multiple Lids
Question: Our surgeon is performing a tumor excision from all four lids. How do I code this?
Answer: CPT code 67840 Excision of lesion of eyelid has a MUE of 4. No need to append modifiers E1 – E4. Simply submit 4 in the unit field. The ICD-10 codes should match the billing. You can include a note in box 19, stating removal of lesion is from all four lids.
